Joakim, Daniel, Annot Folks, During the Media Annotation WG today, Joakim has raised the issue of the delay of the Group toward the advancement of its specifications. We should keep in mind that the Media Annotations Working Group Charter [1] ends 30 June 2010. So far the WG has produced: - Use Cases and Requirements for Ontology and API for Media Object 1.0 [version 04 June 2009] [2] - Ontology for Media Resource 1.0 [version 18 June 2009] [3] - and should release soon a its first WD for API for Media Object 1.0 [4] We should now concentrate to publish ASAP a First Draft of "API for Media Object 1.0" , even if the document is not finalized. This will allow to save time regarding the Call for exclusion. You may be aware that there is a call for exclusion periods (150 days for First Public WD and 60 days for Last Call WD). Therefore if we want to avoid been stuck in Candidate Rec (waiting for the exclusion period to end) we should publish ASAP a First Draft of "API for Media Object 1.0". There are ways for a Working Group to end an exclusion opportunity sooner than scheduled, and exit CR. But we will have to go through this process before the PR Transition request. See details [5] and [6].
