Hi everyone!

I’m new to the W3C Accessible Platform Architectures Working Group and my particular interest is in helping with the Maturity Model. After some goose chasing, I’m still not able to find calendar links or meeting invites. Any chance someone could invite me to the series? I’d love to contribute where possible.

A little about me…happy to also share real time:
I’m based in Phoenix Arizona with a UX/Jazz Musician husband, five amazing kids, and more pets than we need. I’ve been in web and software development for more than 20 years. My undergrad is in Computer Information Technology and my Masters is in Human Computer Interaction. I’m passionate about people and am intrigued by their behaviors, decisions, emotions, and interactions.

When I first started as a web developer (that title was cool back then), I learned about the W3C and WCAG. I ensured Accessibility was included on our early sites and have modeled the importance of it throughout my career. I’ve worked across the span of product development to include UI/UX Designer, front-end developer, User Research, Research Lab Manager where I designed and built two accessible research labs, Product Owner of an accessible framework, and now my sole focus is on leading Accessibility across our suite of products for UKG, a leading Human Capital Management company. I founded and lead our company’s employee resource group ADAPT (Accessibility and Disability Allies Partner Together) and recently earned the CPACC.

I don’t always get it right, and I believe true inclusion is a continuous journey of learning, sharing experiences, showing compassion, and being open. I’m also neurodiverse and I don’t share that aspect very often, but I do find that some people resonate with it more than others. Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria is real. Now that you do know, I’m also happy to trade war stories on what’s worked well and what hasn’t with a neurospicy brain. I recently learned of that term and I kind of like it. :) I’d love to learn from your experiences as well.
