Re: Interest in editor role for LWS Protocol (or similar)

Hello,
Thank you Sarven for bringing up the topic of the editor role. While it is
yet early to be making decisions about that role, this is a good time to
reach out to all participants of this group who are interested in this
role. If you are interested, please reach out to one of the chairs: myself,
Laurens Debackere and Eric Prud'hommeau. It is also a good time to describe
some of the expectations for editors of the eventual LWS protocol
specification.

First, we have less than two years in which to produce a W3C
recommendation. In order to be efficient, we would like multiple editors,
ideally three. Most importantly, these individuals will need to be able to
work well and efficiently with each other. People in this role will have
different perspectives and will need to be able to disagree respectfully
while also being able to come to consensus views, both within the editor
group and also across the entire working group.

Second, we will want representation from different types of interests --
commercial, open source, and academic being three examples.

Ultimately, this will be a decision that comes from the chairs, and it is
our responsibility to find a group of editors that together will help this
group meet the goals outlined in the working group charter.

Regards, Aaron
