Hi Jon, Sure, I realise there are other factors, but it might be a useful method/tool for Silver. E.g. assessing whether a font is too thin might be easier from this type of evaluation compared to analysing factors in a typeface. Thanks for sharing the resource. Hi folks, I don't know if anyone else was attending Techshare this year, but I saw Dr Sam Waller's presentation which was about using Gaussian blur to test text & icon visibility. (He's at the Cambridge (UK) University Engineering Design Centre http://www.cedc.tools/) I'm not going to do it justice here, but the thing that stood out to me was that: If you know the testers visual acuity (established by which line of text they could read on a chart), you can then apply a gaussian blur to an interface to reduce that acuity by a standardised amount. Then review the text and other items that need differentiation for use with low-vision. I got in touch to see if there was interest in using that as a tool in Silver and we're looking to set up a meeting soon. Please let me know if you'd like to be involved, it will probably be as part of a Silver sub-group.
