Jim, outlines can be a problem for me too if the width of the text is too thin or the same color as the background. This is a FAIL Would a border around every letter be sufficient? Extreme case - white background with white text with 1 px outline around each letter. I think this is also a fail. It would prove difficult at large magnification and for folks with reading and/or cognitive issues. Reading/seeing solid letters is different than reading/seeing outlined letters. what about gradient letters - bottom of letter passes contrast but top of letter fails - to me this is a FAIL. That, for example, is done for captions -- for example, they must be synchronized, accurate, indicate speaker, include sounds, etc. That is very cleared out in the notes under the definition. So we should do something similar. >> >> Jonathan >> >> Jonathan Avila >> Chief Accessibility Officer >> SSB BART Group >> jon.avila@ssbbartgroup.com<mailto:jon.avila@ssbbartgroup.com> >> 703.637.8957<tel:703.637.8957> (Office) >> >> Visit us online: Website | Twitter | Facebook | Linkedin | Blog >> Check out our Digital Accessibility Webinars! >> >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: Laura Carlson [mailto:laura.lee.carlson@gmail.com<mailto:laura.lee.carlson@gmail.com>] >> Sent: Friday, September 09, 2016 4:26 PM >> To: Jonathan Avila >> Cc: Low Vision Task Force >> Subject: Re: New contrast testing tool for text over background images >> >> Hi Jonathan, >> >> I wonder if we should explicitly say that in an SC or understanding doc? >> >> The developer has a link at the bottom of the page for suggestions. >> >> Kindest Regards, >> Laura >> >> On 9/9/16, Jonathan Avila <jon.avila@ssbbartgroup.com<mailto:jon.avila@ssbbartgroup.com>> wrote: >> >> Here is a new tool to tryout for foreground contrast over a >> >> background images.
