LiUD 2014 Workshop - Linking User Data Held at UMAP 2014 - 22nd Conf. User Modeling, Adapation and Personalization 7-11 July 2014 - Aalborg, Denmark Submission deadline: 1 April 2014 http://liud.linkededucation.org/ LINKING USER DATA The use of external, open resources is becoming increasingly important for the tasks of interlinking user profiles, disambiguating them and enriching them. With the growth of web data – data published following the linked data principles – such information resources are becoming more and more accessible, connectable and exploitable. In this workshop, we aim to investigate the use of linked data for the benefit of user modeling, the new opportunities that are offered by the associated techniques, as well as the new challenges that open web data creates in this area of research. WORKSHOP TOPICS We invite submissions on techniques and approaches for linking user data, as well as on applications that exploit or analyze linked user profiles. Topics include, but are not limited to: - using the Web of Data for personalization and context awareness - connecting distributed user data into user profiles - enriching user models with domain knowledge from the LoD and elsewhere - schemas and ontologies for user and social graph modeling - ontologies and metadata schemes for interoperable user models - knowledge discovery through recommendations and guidance in the LoD - neighborhood discovery for collaborative filtering in the LoD - recommender systems exploiting the Web of data Apart from long and short research papers, we specifically encourage the submission of (live) demos, prototypes and proofs of concept. In addition, we welcome two-page vision papers as input for the discussion session.
