[Apologies for cross-posting] Workshop on User interaction built on library linked data (UILLD) -- Pre-conference to the 79th World Library and Information Conference, Jurong East Regional Library, Singapore http://uilld2013.linkeddata.es/ CALL FOR ABSTRACTS In addition to full academic papers, the UILLD 2013 is pleased to invite submission of abstracts of about 500 words. The abstracts will be reviewed by members of the programme committee. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present at the workshop. Accepted abstracts will be published online and in the conference proceedings. Deadline for abstracts is May 31st, 2013. Please submit your abstract via EasyChair at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=uilld2013 . INTRODUCTION AND CONFERENCE SCOPE The quantity of Linked Data published by libraries is increasing dramatically: Following the lead of the National Library of Sweden (2008), several libraries and library networks have begun to publish authority files and bibliographic information as linked (open) data. However, applications that consume this data are not yet widespread. Particularly, there is a lack of methods for integration of Linked Data from multiple sources and its presentation in appropriate end user interfaces. Existing services tend to build on one or two well integrated datasets – often from the same data supplier – and do not actively use the links provided to other datasets within or outside of the library or cultural heritage sector to provide a better user experience.
