you might be confusing a "getStatement" with SPARQL. i already can and
did implement getStatement for a plethora of backends (see one of mails
in the rest thread) - that does not substitute sparql and is therefor
not an "alternative" (lightweight or otherwise).

might be SPARQL-complete, gotta check ;-)
