Many in the Semantic Web community (especially linked data people) might find the TAC 2010 Knowledge Base Population Track of interest. "The Knowledge Base Population (KBP) Track at TAC 2010 will explore extraction of information about entities with reference to an external knowledge source. Using basic schema for persons, organizations, and locations, nodes in an ontology must be created and populated using unstructured information found in text. A collection of Wikipedia Infoboxes will serve as a rudimentary initial knowledge representation." See http://nlp.cs.qc.cuny.edu/kbp/2010/ for details. -- Tim Finin, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore MD 21250 http://umbc.edu/~finin finin@umbc.edu 410-455-3522 fax:-3969 http://ebiquity.umbc.edu/ tfinin@gmail.com
