besides there has been a w3c incubator group dedicated to similar topics and chaired by Josh several years ago : http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/geo/ .

Certainly worth taking into account if not already.

Josh, can you give information on the status and ongoing work of the geosem DWG with respect to the topics at stake here?
