I had forgotten about this project, but it has come up again on the RDA list. The "Variations" project at Indiana U did a very complete test of FRBR for music data which included the creation of a user interface for catalogers [1], schemas [2] and some output data. The data is very complex and I haven't been able to get it loaded into any viewers that I know of. The project hasn't (yet?) produced an actual implementation, but it looks to me like a lot of the necessary parts are there. I haven't looked closely enough to know how easily it adapts to non-music materials. In any case, when catalogers ask what the interface might look like, the short videos here [1] could provide an answer. kc [1] http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/projects/vfrbr/projectDoc/metadata/cataloging [2] http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/projects/vfrbr/data/rdf/index.shtml -- Karen Coyle kcoyle@kcoyle.net http://kcoyle.net ph: 1-510-540-7596 m: 1-510-435-8234 skype: kcoylenet
