I think some cases are worth this effort and you can find a few in DBpedia. For example: http://dbpedia.org/resource/Historical_Jesus http://dbpedia.org/resource/Jesus Oddly enough, DBpedia asserts no relationship between the two. Most of the rdf:types for http://dbpedia.org/resource/Jesus seem plausible except for yago:DisputedConvictionsLeadingToExecution. rdf:type * yago:FoundersOfReligions * owl:Thing * opencyc:en/MaleHuman * opencyc:en/Deceased * opencyc:en/ReligiousSymbol * yago:ManifestationsOfGodInTheBahá'íFaith * yago:DisputedConvictionsLeadingToExecution * yago:Life-death-rebirthDeities * opencyc:en/God The rdf:type for http://dbpedia.org/resource/Historical_Jesus doesn't make sense: rdf:type yago:PerspectivesOnJesus Jeff > -----Original Message----- > From: public-lld-request@w3.org [mailto:public-lld-request@w3.org] On > Behalf Of Karen Coyle > Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2011 10:50 AM > To: Dan Brickley > Cc: Ed Summers; public-lld@w3.org > Subject: Re: Planned changes to the VIAF RDF > > Quoting Dan Brickley <danbri@danbri.org>: > > > > As a loose rule, I see value in the latter when the thing figures in > > some SKOS scheme, either to be mentioned alongside other related > > entities (also indirectly as concepts) or so that > > person_123_as_politician, person_123_as_parent, person_123_as_author > > could be distinguished as different topics.
