RE: JSON-LD Telecon: 2018-02-05 (8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT)

Dear all,

I was unable to join the meeting today. I am new to the group and I might have missed important information on how to connect to Digital Bazaar’s SIP server. I tried with Linphone and microSIP but both had the same behavior, I kept being thrown away from the conference:

[17:44] <voip-ld> Victor Charpenay [SIP/sip.linphone.org-00000038] has joined the conference.
[17:44] <voip-ld> Victor Charpenay [SIP/sip.linphone.org-00000038] has left the conference.

Do you have any advice on how to proceed next time? What about writing a short how-to on that page, after the meeting info: https://json-ld.org/minutes/?

Many thanks,
Victor Charpenay

I believe that “sip” is the URI scheme, and necessary. Note that I’ve had mixed success with Linphone, works on iMac, and iPhone, not on MacBook.

Forgive me for the stupid question, but I am a new (and, so far, unsuccessful) SIP user: when I type in the address into, say, linphone, I am not supposed to type in the "sip:" part, right? Or, on the contrary, do I have to?

For folks who have had trouble connecting via SIP ...

Two additional SIP end points to try connecting to, if the main one doesn't work:

* sip:json-ld@voip.digitalbazaar.com<mailto:sip%3Ajson-ld@voip.digitalbazaar.com>
* sip:json-ld@96.89.14.196<mailto:sip%3Ajson-ld@96.89.14.196>

Speak tomorrow!
