Hi everyone, Finding out who's going to scribe at the beginning of each call often takes time, time away from productive discussions. To help with this I had initially set up a scribe list [1] which I meant to use in a round robin fashion to keep track of who should be next. Evidently though, this isn't proving to be very useful because we've got people on that list who, for one reason or another, never are available to scribe. I'd like everyone to help with taking minutes during our calls and encourage everyone to try - it's really not as hard as you might think and we've got several experienced members who can help as you try - but I realize not everyone feels comfortable enough with the language to take on that duty. So to increase the odds of finding someone quickly, I'm going to make several changes. 1. The primary candidate will be taken from the top list (not scribed yet), and an alternate candidate will be selected from the second list (scribed at least once). Of course, I reserve the right to select differently in recognition of special circumstances at my own discretion. For instance, I don't think it's reasonable to ask brand new members to scribe. 2. I'd like to take off the people who want to be excused from scribing duty due to some permanent incapacity - such as language. I added a new section at the end for that purpose. Please, let me know if you'd like to be excused and what's preventing you from scribing. "I don't feel like it" isn't a good excuse. ;-) Thanks everyone and special thanks to those who readily volunteer to pick up the slack when we can't seem to find a scribe.
