I don’t think there was ever a question about the spec. The opinion was
expressed in the meeting that we were making too much fuss about this
ambiguity stuff and that it doesn’t matter to users very much because
all of the parses represent the same information anyway.

The point Bethan was making (I think; I’d go ask her but she’s busy
working on a PhD), is that this is simply not the case for some grammars
and some parses.
