Currently we have "For any conforming grammar and any input, processors must:" and then a list of conformance clauses. It seems to me reasonable that we require that the processor establish that the grammar is conforming first. So: "For any supplied grammar and input, processors must: * Establish that the grammar is conforming, and report otherwise that it is not. * If the grammar is conforming, parse the input using the grammar, and ..." We also need to decide what conformance criteria for the processor we want to include about non-valid XML names and character content. Steven
