I mentioned this on the Twitters <https://twitter.com/stew_rtsmith/status/1149107555450462209>; I’d love to see a sturdier, more geometric typeface (like if Akkurat <https://lineto.com/The+Fonts/Font+Categories/Text+Fonts/Akkurat/> had a super bold weight?)—something that probably has a metal-cut lineage like DIN <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_1451> (but please *not* DIN because 2002 called and wants its DIN back!) Not only would a more geometric typeface be visually stronger, it also leaves the door open to more pleasing animation possibilities. But disclaimer: I’m already biassed toward Swiss Modernism <https://gdpsu.typepad.com/354/2017/09/swiss-modernism-and-the-modular-grid..html>, not just visually but conceptually as its emphasis on structure and modularity mirrors how we build up code libraries and interfaces.
