Re: Urgent - Re: IDCG volunteers for the W3C's Diversity Fund selection committee (2020)

I'm happy to help.

Additionally, as I'm hearing there aren't a lot of applications, why don't
we use some of the extra money left to help raise awareness of W3C's
broader membership to racial issues?

As Kim Crayton's intervention has already seeded some really interesting
discussions in the AC forum, my initial thought was to ask her if she'd be
willing to organize a workshop for W3C members during TPAC. Kim's answer
was that running such workshops is (understandingly) a lot of emotional
work and that she would rather W3C members join her "Being antiracist at
work" online workshop (https://being-antiracist.com/) which she is running
on October 31st, very conveniently the day after TPAC.

The workshop is $30 per person. It can be joined live on the day of the
event or watched later. We could easily offer a hundred or more tickets to
interested W3C members with what's left of the Diversity Fund.

Associating W3C to such an event would not only help raise awareness and
educate ourselves, it would also be highly symbolic.

What do you all think?
