Re: Actions for inclusion in the statement

Wendy, thanks for following up on this thread.

Leonie, I was thinking that if we want to position the IDCG to better be
able to back this proposed action commitment on behalf of W3C...

     > *"W3C commits to take actions in the areas of learning, messaging,
     > outreach and inreach, creating a welcoming environment, supporting
     > participants, technical development, governance, and continuous
     > improvement."*

...that it might be helpful to restructure the proposed ideas list that
you started...

https://github.com/w3c/idcg/wiki/Ideas-for-ID-CG-actions

...to map to these categories. That way I think we can more easily
assess how close we are to coverage of each of the areas. I'm guessing
that we're not so far away from that. Maybe it would inspire enough
people to volunteer to cover the gaps.

Wendy, thinking again of ways to cover the gaps, my first thought is
that if W3C is making a statement about what we commit to, it may indeed
be important to make sure there's at least one main volunteer per area,
lest we find that a year from now we've barely made progress.

And we also need someone encouraging the volunteers to keep things
moving in between meetings, if we want to ensure progress towards
eventual impact.

We should also a huge disclaimer saying if anyone is interested in helping with anything they are welcome to participate as well. Alternately, if there's no main volunteer, could the group take ownership until a person or another group claims it? Might be the most simple way to address the issue?
