* I have been informed of your message that you sent to public global
inclusion about your concerns that WCAG 2.2 does not sufficiently address
vertical writing and other typographic conventions of non-Western
languages. We at WAI are willing to discuss potential approaches to solving
these concerns. We are also willing to inform you that at present the
process for updating ISO PAS submissions is much lighter than it was in the
past. Having the current WCAG 2.2 version adopted this year doesn't mean we
cannot update it as soon as there are new changes. The Accessibility
Guidelines Working Group is working on a much more agile process for WCAG
2.2. That will eventually let us publish updates to WCAG twice a year,
which we intend to retrofit to ISO/JTC1. Would you be available for a phone
conversation to discuss how your concerns could be addressed? Best regards.
