2 レベルの処理方式とした．第 1 レベルでは，親文字及びル
ビ文字（両者を合わせて，以下，親文字群という）のみの情報か
ら，親文字とルビ文字の配置関係を決める．第 2 レベルでは，親
文字群の前後に配置する文字を考慮して，行の中での親文字群の
配置位置を確定する．逆に言えば，第 1 レベルで決めた親文字と
ルビ文字の配置関係は，親文字群の前後に配置する文字により修
正することはしない．また，親文字群が行頭又は行末に配置され
ることにより，親文字とルビ文字の配置関係を直し，親文字の先
頭又は末尾を行頭又は行末にそろえる配置方法は採用しない．つ
まり，第 1 レベルで決定した事項は，第 2 レベルでは修正しない
方式とした．

(2) Note: 2レベルの処理方式

熟語ルビでは，2 行
にわたる分割を認めている．分割された場
合は，分割前の親文字とルビの配置位置は
変化する．しかし，例えば 3 字で構成さ
れた熟語ルビでは，親文字は 3 字，1 字＋
2 字，2 字＋ 1 字の 3 つの組合せがある
が，それぞれの場合において，親文字とル
ビの配置位置は，それだけで決定され，そ
の配置位置は変化しない．

(1) 2.2 Considerations for simple placement rules item 3 (FPWD at /TR/)

Processing is done in two steps. In the first step, processing of layout only considers
the relative positions of the ruby annotation and its base text.
In the second step, layout processing decides the position of the ruby block in the line,
taking into consideration the preceding and following characters. On the other hand,
relative positions of the ruby annotation and its base text as decided in the first
step are not modified in the light of any characters preceding and following the ruby block.
Also, when the ruby block is placed at the line head or the line end the method used
in this document does not align the first or last character of the base text to the line head
or the line end by modifying the relative positions of the ruby annotation and its base text.
To summarise, the relative positions decided in the first step are not modified by the second step at all.

(2) Note: Line breake and two-step processing for Jukugo-ruby (PR #75)

Line breaks are allowed inside Jukugo-ruby.
When line breaks are inserted inside Jukugo-ruby,
relative positions of the ruby annotation and its base text are changed compaired
to ones before line breaks inserted.
For example, Jukugo-ruby whose base text is consisted of three characters,
three cases are possible with considering line breaks, three characters as one block,
two blocks with one character and following two characters,
and two blocks with two characters and following one character.
For all of three cases,
relative positions of the ruby annotation and its base text are decided
within each block without any relationship to surrounding characters.
Therefore, two-step processing method is applicable for Jukugo-ruby after line breaks inserted.
