I think that from the engine point of view, R versus U versus U with GSUB is the important distinction. However for font developers and also to explain the detail of the fact that there are simple rotations and then more complex transformations involved in J vertical text, should not be lost by oversimplifying what we describe…

実際、当初の案は「R/U/T」の３つで、「Tu/Tr」の区別はありませんでした。この区別は、フィードバックがあって追加したのですが、CSSでも使っておらず、正直あまり役に立っている実感はないので、議論を複雑にするなら当初の「R/U/T」の３つの案に戻してもいいかもしれないと思います。

「R/U/T」の３つなら、すっきりしますか？
