ITS IG Teleconference on Tuesday Nov-23-2010 Summary === ITS-oriented reviews of XML specifications Last Calls: http://www.w3.org/TR/#last-call --- EPUB: See http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its-ig/2010Sep/0006.html And following emails. Nothing new here, for now. --- translate attribute in HTML5 Discussion on the translate data category. RI has an action item to follow up. Deadline has passed for HTML5 though. --- MIME type: http://www.alvestrand.no/pipermail/ietf-types/2010-April/002337.html Status unchanged. Nothing new. === ITS Rules repository http://www.w3.org/International/its/wiki/RulesRepository No new rules added. === ITS Processor with XSLT XML to XLIFF using ITS and XSLT: V0.6: http://fabday.fh-potsdam.de/~sasaki/its/ V0.7: http://fabday.fh-potsdam.de/~sasaki/its/temp.html No change. Nothing new here. === ITS General issues --- Context data category Should go there: http://www.w3.org/International/its/wiki/IssuesAndProposedFeatures#Proposed_Text ACTION ITEM: Christian had the action item to work on this proposal. Started: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its-ig/2010Sep/0003.html Pending. --- Idea for a "targets" data category. For example: <p its:targets=".*?-US">This is specific to the United States.</p> Felix noted possible ideas here: http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-ltli-20060612/ Yves: not sure how to implement this. Christian: Sees use cases for it quite often. Not sure how this kind of categorization could work. But seems useful at the object level. Maybe no "targets" but a "lsc" (locale-specific content) category. And for the value -> BCP-47 (more than "language") http://www.w3.org/International/articles/language-tags/ : language-extlang-script-region-variants-extensions-privateuse Felix: work on locale id is being done. RFC draft for locale-id extending BCP-47 http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-davis-u-langtag-ext-04 http://unicode.org/reports/tr35/ So maybe the values for something like "lcs" --- Jirka has a validator available here: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its-ig/2010May/0002.html ACTION ITEM: Yves had an action item to make the validator visible from some ITS pages: Nov-22: All seems to work now. Several posts pointing to the validator done, as well as a tweet (http://twitter.com/OkapiFramework) Done. === Any Other Business? Christian: list of ITS-related presentations: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-i18n-its-ig/2010Nov/0001.html === Next teleconference is Jan-18 (skipping Dec-21 due to holidays) Cheers, -ys
