ITS IG Teleconference on Tuesday Jun-22-2010 At 15:00 UTC/GMT - Summary

ITS IG Teleconference summary

Minutes of the previous meeting:
http://www.w3.org/2010/05/25-i18nits-minutes.html

Regrets: Felix, Christian,
Attending: Ingo, Yves

=== ITS-oriented reviews of XML specifications

Last Calls: http://www.w3.org/TR/#last-call

-- MIME type:
Discussion on MIME type for ITS
http://www.alvestrand.no/pipermail/ietf-types/2010-April/002337.html

Felix indicated that he received no further feedback, so hopefully the mime type can be registered soon.

-- ACTION: Christian to review TBX

Still pending.

=== ITS Rules repository
http://www.w3.org/International/its/wiki/RulesRepository

Yves had an action item to add warning about the definition of OOXML rules
That was done:
http://www.w3.org/International/its/wiki/OOXML10#Rules_for_Office_Open_XML_1.0_.28OOXML.29

No new rules posted.

=== ITS Processor with XSLT

XML to XLIFF using ITS and XSLT:
V0.6: http://fabday.fh-potsdam.de/~sasaki/its/
V0.7: http://fabday.fh-potsdam.de/~sasaki/its/temp.html

No change.

=== ITS General issues

--- Context data category
ACTION ITEM: Ingo to draft a proposal for the context Should go there:
http://www.w3.org/International/its/wiki/IssuesAndProposedFeatures#Proposed_Text

Ingo indicated that he hopes to have some time later this summer for this.

--- Idea for a "targets" data category.
For example: <p its:targets=".*?-US">This is specific to the United States.</p>

>From Felix: Would the value be a language tag, or something "locale" like?
In the later case you might want to have a look at ltli http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-ltli-20060612/
- well, this needs an update, for sure, but maybe some food for thought ...

>From Christian: I guess I would avoid „target” since it is quite central to XLIFF.
I guess “locale-specific-content (lsc)” is too wordy? My best bet would be to search
for a similar concept in the area of Web Content Management.

=== Any Other Business?

Ingo: Noted that Christian mentioned some problem using the ITS links with trades. That was likely due to proxy issues.

=== Next teleconference is July 20th

Cheers,
-ys
