I18N-ISSUE-423: Optional BOM ⓟ [WebVTT] http://www.w3.org/International/track/issues/423 Raised by: Addison Phillips On product: WebVTT http://www.w3.org/TR/webvtt1/#webvtt-file-structure The specification REQUIRES UTF-8, which is awesome. The specification allows the (optional) presence of the BOM character (U+FEFF), presumably in its UTF-8 flavored 0xEF.BB.BF octet sequence. I assume BOM is permitted because some text editors apply a BOM as a Unicode introducer. This issue is just to note the presence of BOM in the file format.
