Hello ICU colleagues, The W3C I18N WG has tasked me [0] with asking about the implementation status of the new Unicode bidi isolation control characters in ICU. In a recent teleconference [1], Richard Ishida mentioned that he had created tests for support of the new isolation controls and that a number of browsers [2] had failed the resulting tests. We are aware that at least some browsers have used ICU in the past to provide UBA support, so we thought we'd inquired as to the support status in ICU. If ICU has implemented the new controls, it would be helpful to know which version is the earliest with support. As a separate request, we would very much appreciate any review of the tests [2] in question for correctness/completeness. Thanks (for I18N), Addison [0] http://www.w3.org/International/track/actions/406 [1] http://www.w3.org/2015/02/19-i18n-minutes.html [2] http://www.w3.org/International/tests/repository/html5/bidi-requirements/results-rli-etc Addison Phillips Globalization Architect (Amazon Lab126) Chair (W3C I18N WG) Internationalization is not a feature. It is an architecture.
