Re: [I18N Core] Teleconference Minutes 2007-01-09

For the "IDN does it work?" document, I'd suggest showing some important
differences among browsers with regard to IDNs. That is, they have different
strategies for identifying suspicious URLs, although in both cases they use
the Punycode to flag such cases.

   1. IE7 looks at the languages set in the browser, and deduce from that
   a set of scripts. Any name that contains characters outside of those scripts
   (or fails in certain other ways) is shown in the raw punycode form. I
   believe it also blacklists certain domains.
   2. Firefox assesses the registry policy (in some way), and if they
   decide it is satisfactory they let it through. Not sure if they also have a
   blacklist.
