kidayasuo has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/jlreq-d: == Come up with a definition of 全角 that are generic enough to cover non-square typefaces == The current definition of 全角 (full-width) in JIS / JLReq assumes the use of fonts with a square body. There are many Japanese fonts that are not square. For example, fonts such as ones used for newspapers, Morisawa Shingo Condensed, MS P Mincho/Gothic, and AXIS Condensed have a rectangular character body that is not square. There have been discussions on the JLReq TF mailing list. This GH issue captures the conclusion up to this point and serves as a record for further discussion.
