r12a has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/jlreq: == Rotation of fullwidth semicolon == In case it's useful, here are some observations i made for the orientation of <span class="codepoint" translate="no"><span lang="ja">；</span> [<span class="uname">U+FF1B FULLWIDTH SEMICOLON</span>]</span> in vertically-set text, using writing-modes. You can replicate the tests in the [Japanese](http://r12a.github.io/pickers/jpan/?text=%E2%80%96%E2%9C%82%E3%80%B0%EF%BC%9B&showFonts=true) and [Chinese](http://r12a.github.io/pickers/hani/?text=%E2%80%96%E2%9C%82%E3%80%B0%EF%BC%9B&showFonts=true) character apps. Use the pulldown menu on the right to toggle the direction. Just mouse over the font names and watch the glyphs change. I tested on a Mac. ### Basic conclusion: Japanese system fonts all rotate. Most Chinese fonts DO NOT rotate.
