How about: Chinese characters can be broadly classified into two scripts, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. Chinese communities in different regions (e.g. Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia and so on) may have their own standards on specific glyphs and character strokes.
