    <Behnam> actions?

    <r12a> close action-19

    <trackbot> Closed action-19.

Behnam: Action #19 regarding adding a GitHub pages branch in
    the Git repo is done.

Richard: Action #20 (setting up a new call information for next
week) is still ongoing and will probably be done by next week.

Recruiting Status

Behnam: We have one new memmber which could not be on today’s
    call: Khaled Hossni from Egypt.

Behnam: He has been working on open source and typography
    projects.
... Hopefully we will have him in the next week’s meeting.

Glossary status

Mostafa: I haven’t got around to adding terms to the glossary,
but I found some books for terms that are missing Persian
    translations.

<Behnam> Btw, presentation slides are posted here:
    [13]https://github.com/w3c/alreq/tree/gh-pages/misc/presentatio
    ns

      [13] https://github.com/w3c/alreq/tree/gh-pages/misc/presentations

Mostafa: I will proably be able to use them to add some Persian
    translations during this week.

    <najib> Working on the glossary.

<najib> Take time to have complete.

    <najib> working progressively.

<najib> The sheet is not easy.

    <najib> That's it.

    <Behnam> najib, thanks

List of references

Mostafa: What is the best thing to do about books published
here in Iran that are not digitally available? Should I send
extra copies for other members? I scanning a few pages of them
    OK?

    <Behnam>

    d?dl=0

      [14] https://www.dropbox.com/s/u7kn9sy9tuve0s9/ALReq_Refs_List.md?dl=0

Behnam: Not every team member has to have access to these
references. You can go ahead and use them as references. In
cases when it is necessary the one that has the reference can
scan a few pages and send them privately for others.
... Wasseem, could you find a new resources?

Wasseem: Yeah, I searched for more resources and will have
something to share in the next call.

<Behnam> ACTION: Wassim to find references for Arabic lang,
from Syria and the region [recorded in

<trackbot> Created ACTION-21 - Find references for arabic lang,
from syria and the region [on Waseem Daoud - due 2015-11-17].

<Behnam> ACTION: Behnam to add his references to the Ref List

<trackbot> Created ACTION-22 - Add his references to the ref
list [on Behnam Esfahbod - due 2015-11-17].

Drafting status

Behnam: I myself have to look for more resources and add them
    to the list.

Mostafa: Last week we had a first draft of the “Characters”
section. There is a GitHub issue for that now. Please go ahead
and add suggestions for improvements. I would happy to
    implement suggestions.
... In the meantime, I can pick another topic and start an
    initial draft for that.

<Behnam> ACTION: Behnam to write up a section for
languages/locales in Introductions chapter [recorded in
    [19]http://www.w3.org/2015/11/10-alreq-minutes.html#action04]

    <trackbot> Created ACTION-23 - Write up a section for
languages/locales in introductions chapter [on Behnam Esfahbod
    - due 2015-11-17].

Behnam: The topic of languages to support have come up before.
I’m working on an introductory section that talks about that
and other sections like “Characters” can refer to that.

    <najib> May ACTION: font-and-typography

    <najib> Added some updates

Behnam: This will be sent over as a PR on the GitHub repo.

<najib> It is yet a rough draft. Try to enhance it with
    quotations, references and more example.

<najib> May be all is not relevant to this section of the
    document (font-and-typography).

<najib> Please read and tell me what you think.

    <r12a> link, najib?

<najib> speaking to book publishers to grab feedbacks.

    <najib> That's it.

Richard: A few weeks ago I found a few web pages about font
styles and suggested. From this draft seems like they have been
    taken into consideration.

<najib> Also Pinging an expert in typography and Arabic styles
from Tunisia, but didn't yet receive an answer.

    <najib> That's all.

Behnam: In my opinion, these examples and notes are good
topics, but we need to start covering more generic matters.
    These are too detail.
... We mentioned covering general styles like Nastaliq, Kufi,
    and Naskh.

<Behnam> najib: I like it that you have pointed out these cases

Richard: That’s what I was talking about.

<Behnam> najib: I think we also need to cover the major styles

<najib> I am aware we should be more general and cover more
    topics.

    <Behnam> najib: sounds good

<r12a> najib, are you planning to do that?

    <najib> Yes

Mostafa: As I said, I am ready to pick another topic. Which is
    good?

Behnam: I looked at the characters section and I was interested
in having an explanation of how the characters are represented.
... Like what you mentioned a few meetings before, about
overlap between joining glyphs that can lead to a problem.
... I believe we have to put images in this chapter to explain
how joining and letters work togeher.
... And then we have to explain differences between isolated
    and joined forms.

Richard: Mostafa have already did some work on these topics,
and these are good topics to talk about.

Richard: And the sooner we get to writen document the better.
... We should be aware of covering some layout topics like
justification and hyphenation too and get into more details as
we see the need for them.

Mostafa: All the topics that you mentioned are correct and
should be covered, but I guess they belong more to the next
    section which covers joining.

<Behnam> ACTION: Mostafa to start drafting Arrangement and
    Joining Behaviour [recorded in
    [23]http://www.w3.org/2015/11/10-alreq-minutes.html#action05]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-24 - Start drafting arrangement and
joining behaviour [on Mostafa Hajizadeh - due 2015-11-17].

Mostafa: The model I had in mind for the character section was
the characters sections in jlreq and clreq, which both were
very concise and mentioned the general types of characters used
    and refered to the tables.

Behnam: Right, these belong to the next topic that should cover
    arrangement and joining behavior.
... Richard, I agree with you about the importance of topics
    like elongation and justifications.
... I think we need terms that cover the joining behavior to
    talk about those other topics.
... That’s the reason I’m happy with starting at the lower
    lever before getting to justifications.

Richard: I understand. I’m just worried about getting caught in
the topics that are not that new.
... Justification and elongation are new for a lot of people
and are great topics to cover.

    <r12a> [24]http://w3c.github.io/tlreq/

      [24] http://w3c.github.io/tlreq/

Richard: I want to suggest something.
... I was writing the Tibetan layout requirement.

<Behnam> ACTION: Behnam to update list of Editors [recorded in
    [25]http://www.w3.org/2015/11/10-alreq-minutes.html#action06]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-25 - Update list of editors [on
    Behnam Esfahbod - due 2015-11-17].

Richard: I thought it was necessary to describe the Tibetan
script more that what we did in jlreq and clreq, because it
    needed its own approach.
... I’m thinking if we need to take the same unique approach
    for Arabic.
... Also, we have to add Mostafa and Najib as editors to the
    document.

<Behnam> ACTION: Richard to file an issue to restructure our
document based on his experience with Tibetan script [recorded
    in
    [26]http://www.w3.org/2015/11/10-alreq-minutes.html#action07]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-26 - File an issue to restructure our
document based on his experience with tibetan script [on
    Richard Ishida - due 2015-11-17].

Behnam: I see your point. You are kind of suggesting to change
the document structure. It would be better if we could have
some time to think about it and discuss it with Shervin too.

Richard: I can file an issue for that.

Possibility of rescheduling weekly meetings

<najib> In general any time is fine for Morocco.

Behnam: The last topic is the possiblity of rescheduling the
meetings to another week day, because I got involved in another
    working group.

    <najib> We are GMT

<Behnam> najib, we have to keep the time as it is. So, I'm just
wondering if we can change the day

    <najib> Not Thursday

    <najib> I18N call

Mostafa: People have to check with their schedules, so could we
build a new poll for this like the one we had at the beginning
    of these meetings?

Richard: The only other option for me is Wednesday.

Behnam: Alright, I send an email to the mailing list about it.
