What drew you to this community, and what interests you most about human-centric AI? *I established the community. I had been involved in other communities where I defined a deployment modality that I defined as ‘human centric’ (using AI / semweb tooling now globally commercialised) as is shown on the lists[1]. Overall, the main goals are centered upon the protection of human rights and ensuring means whereby people are able to own their own ‘thoughtware’ and means to live in a manner consistent with the ideals stated in human rights instruments (aka “god given rights”) without 3rd party commercial claims or IPR rights due to technology (ie: software, structures, etc.) ownership related ‘rights’ that may otherwise exist if produced in a proprietary fashion. * 2. What do you hope to get out of this group? Are there specific goals or outcomes you're aiming for, whether they're personal, professional, or broader in nature? *There were two elements that led to the effort to establish the group. * 1. *The term ‘human centric’ as a characterisation for the future of AI had grown to be used by many international quorum. Yet, within these quorum, there appeared to be a lack of comprehension about the intended meaning, and in-turn also a lack of ‘parts’ to realise those outcomes in connection with the use of the term ‘human centric’ in nomenclature as to achieve intended goals. * 2. *The hope was that the W3C Group would act in its capacities, within the broader internet governance framework as a W3C Activity stream to address those apparent shortfalls. * 3. What do you hope to contribute? Do you have any particular skills, experiences, or perspectives you're excited to share? What role do you see yourself playing within the group? *I believe I failed and/or am defeated. I am making effort to ‘pass the baton’.* 4. What would you like to see the group do? Are there specific projects, discussions, or initiatives you believe we should prioritize? *They’ve been noted on the list on a best efforts basis[2], in an effort to at least provide a priority date for considered constituencies should proprietary alternative efforts emerge as to seek to achieve the same goals without W3C Patent-Pool Licensing and related IPR frameworks. It must also be considered that ‘free workers’ without resources are materially limited.* [1] https://www.w3.org/Search/Mail/Public/advanced_search?keywords=%22human+centric%22&index-grp=Public__FULL&type-index=&resultsperpage=100&sortby=date-asc [2] https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-humancentricai/ On Wed, 11 Sept 2024 at 02:22, Michael Robbins < michael@learningpathmakers.org> wrote: > Reaching out as a reminder to all of our group members.
