Everyone and Editors in particular, FYI. -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Simplifying Specification Metadata Resent-Date: Mon, 22 Jan 2018 21:51:35 +0000 Resent-From: chairs@w3.org Date: Mon, 22 Jan 2018 16:51:28 -0500 From: Philippe Le Hégaret <plh@w3.org> To: Chairs <chairs@w3.org> Dear Chairs, I mentioned at TPAC 2017 the idea of simplifying the headers of the W3C specifications, in order to reduce the clutter at the beginning of each document as well as giving more flexibility to the Working Groups to manage their versions. Thank you to the individuals already provided early feedback of the proposal. Here is the latest update on this front. The proposal is available at: https://rawgit.com/w3c/tr-design/versioning/versions-proposal.html Considerations and use cases are listed in the proposal. Feedback is welcome by the end of February 2018 at https://github.com/w3c/tr-design/issues Feel free to forward this message to your editors and your group. Thank you, Philippe
