I've also filed a bug for IE :-)

Also, the latest round of patches from the WHATWG spec brought the fix for this bug over to HTML 5.1, and I ported it to the CR draft to resolve the bug. Apparently I had a change-of-heart before you sent your mail... If anyone objects to having the fix, please speak up.
