Re: reference in HTML5 differences document.

I think it would be better to have the draft continue to refer to HTML5, describe the differences between HTML5 and HTML4, and to update the reference. Here are examples of how some other W3C drafts reference HTML5 (pasting as HTML to show how the references are done):

HTML Canvas 2D Context <http://www.w3.org/TR/2dcontext/>:

[HTML5]
HTML5, I. Hickson. W3C.

Cross-Origin Resource Sharing <http://www.w3.org/TR/cors/>

[HTML5]
HTML5 (work in progress), I. Hickson. W3C.
HTML5 (work in progress), I. Hickson. WHATWG.

Web Intents <http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/web-intents/raw-file/tip/spec/Overview.html#references>

[HTML5]
Ian Hickson; David Hyatt. HTML5. 25 May 2011. W3C Working Draft. (Work in progress.) URL: http://www.w3.org/TR/html5

Other than the outdated author information on the last one, any of these styles seems ok. Referencing only the WHATWG draft is odd for the reasons pointed out by Steve, among others.

Regards,
Maciej
