http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12226 Summary: incorrect example in section 1.9.2 syntax errors Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows NT Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: HTML5 spec (editor: Ian Hickson) AssignedTo: ian@hixie.ch ReportedBy: faulkner.steve@gmail.com QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org, public-html@w3.org this "<tr role="cell">" is not currently considered a conformance error as you removed any role constraints on table related elements. So suggest replacing it with an example that is actually a conformance error. from the spec: "Errors that involve a conflict in expressed semantics Similarly, to draw the author's attention to mistakes in the use of elements, clear contradictions in the semantics expressed are also considered conformance errors. In the fragments below, for example, the semantics are nonsensical: a row cannot simultaneously be a cell, nor can a radio button be a progress bar. <tr role="cell"> <input type=radio role=progressbar>" -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
