Summary: Rules wrt xlink: are contradictory
Product: HTML WG
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows NT
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: HTML/XHTML Compatibility Authoring Guide (ed: Eliot
Graff)
AssignedTo: eliotgra@microsoft.com
ReportedBy: ht@inf.ed.ac.uk
QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org,

In the Attribute-Level Namespaces section, we find both
"Polyglot markup declares the XLink namespace on the HTML root element (html)"
and
"polyglot markup defines the xlink prefix only on foreign elements (any SVG
or MathML element) but not the root html element"
The latter should be removed, I guess.
