Completely agreed; that's what I meant.

"Let's simply hash it out here on this list" translates to "a whole bunch 
of people say slightly contradictory things, and then someone merges that 
feedback into a coherent list that is put in the spec". All I'm saying is 
that, unlike with most things, I'm not volunteering to be that person.
