The HTML Working Group will have its usual weekly teleconference on
2009-04-23 for 60 minutes from 17:00Z to 18:00Z.
http://timeanddate.com/s/16fv
Tokyo 01:00+1, Amsterdam/Oslo 18:00, London/Dublin 17:00, New
Jersey/York 12 noon, Kansas City 11:00, Seattle/San Francisco 09:00.
I (Sam Ruby) will chair this meeting. We are looking for a scribe.
Agenda:
Topics we want to cover are included by a review of raised,
open, and pending review items from the tracker, based on target dates
of associated action items:
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/agenda
We specifically need somebody who can address the action items assigned
to Lachlan Hunt (action 34s, 78, and 103), to either attend the call or
to update the actions or to respond on public-html.
Heads up: in the past I mounted a campaign to downgrade "open" issues
without a concrete proposal as "raised". In May, I intend to start (a)
discussing outright closing any "raised" issues that have nobody
interested in providing a concrete proposal to resolve, and (b) begin
actively demoting "open" issues that aren't actively being pursued, even
if they have a concrete proposal.
Also in May, we will also need to begin the grueling task of determining
consensus for what is in the HTML 5 document. I see this as having
three parts: the easiest being to see if we agree on what is in the
document. A bit harder is to see if we agree on what is *not* in the
document (e.g., summary, @profile). Harder yet is access is how to get
actionable feedback from other groups (e.g., accessibility of canvas).
I don't yet know if Ian's goal for Last Call in October is achievable,
but I would like to see us pursue a Last Call which we truly see as a
Last Call, i.e., something with a realistic chance of being accepted or
only receiving minor comments.
Ian's alternate stylesheet and progress towards evaluating feedback on
what he calls "micro-data features" make make cautiously optimistic
about the prospects.
Additions to the agenda are welcome. If you plan to attend the telcon
and wish to place an item on the agenda, please reply to this message
with your agenda request.
