ISSUE-54 (html5-doctype-vs-xslt): XSLT 1.0 can not generate HTML5 documents [HTML 5 spec] http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/ Raised by: Julian Reschke On product: HTML 5 spec Of XSLT's output modes (XML/HTML/TEXT), none can currently be used to produce the HTML5 doctype string, as defined in <http://www.w3.org/html/wg/html5/#the-doctype>. Obviously it would be good if XSLT can be used to generate valid HTML5 documents. Thus, either the current (required) doc type in HTML5 should be reconsidered, or XSLT should be updated to support an HTML5 output mode. See also <http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=5803>.
