    <Titi_Alone> Same for mailing list?

<Titi_Alone> Can't call Zakim if not group participant?

<paulc> Titi_Alone: This IRC channel is being used at this time
for the weekly HTML WG meeting.

<paulc> Titi_Alone: Do you need help?

<Titi_Alone> paulc: Yes, I want to know if I can hear the
conference despite that I'm not a member of the group.

<paulc> Titi_Alone: You should probably attempt to join the WG
    first.

    <scribe> scribenick: rubys

Open ACTION items

    action-249?

priority content for modules -- due 2015-04-05 -- OPEN

    <trackbot> [12]http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/249

      [12] http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/249

paulc: this one is nearly all done; the principle part that
isn't done is triage; we are going to put that on hold until
    the plan is more clear
... the document is in place and is picking up the (relatively
    few) WHATWG changes

    action-252?

    <trackbot> action-252 -- Sam Ruby to - contact polyglot
proponents to ask what they plan to do w/ the spec -- due
    2015-06-30 -- OPEN

    <trackbot> [13]http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/252

      [13] http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/252

paulc: after TPAC, the chairs have attempted to contact the
editors; one has left the wg, and the other is inactive; for
now the chairs will put this on hold
... there was a survey, which was close. We will reevaluate
    when rechartering

    action-253?

<trackbot> action-253 -- Robin Berjon to File bugs on
implementors re: html json form submission -- due 2015-05-23 --
    OPEN

      [14] http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/253

    paulc: due in 10 days

Recent WG Decisions

WG Decision: Return Canvas2D to Last Call
    [15]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015M
    ay/0018.html

      [15]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015May/0018.html

    <plh> [16]http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-2dcontext-20150514/

      [16] http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-2dcontext-20150514/

paulc: there were substantive changes for accessibility
features and to correct some things that previously were left
    out
... last call period is approximately 4 weeks

    b) WG Decision: Move Encrypted Media Extensions (EME)
specification under the terms of the 2014 Process Document
    [17]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015M
    ay/0019.html

      [17]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015May/0019.html

paulc: this will enable the editors to use the new publishing
    tool

WG Decision: Move Using WAI-ARIA in HTML specification under
the terms of the 2014 Process Document
    [18]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015M
    ay/0022.html

      [18]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015May/0022.html

paulc: this is co-published, and is awaiting a decision by PF

janina: there may be confusion in titling; ARIA is HTML is
    fully HTML WG (previously resolved)

    <plh> [19]http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-html-aria-20150514/

      [19] http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-html-aria-20150514/

janina: using HTML in HTML is primarily authoring guidance:
that we want to continue to jointly manage.

    <paulc> [20]http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/WD-aria-in-html-20140626/
    Using WAI-ARIA in HTML

      [20] http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/WD-aria-in-html-20140626/

janina: there were two requests from Steve, there is consensus
on heartbeat, but not yet on automated publishing
... I'll reach out to Steve

paulc: the HTML WG doesn't require permission for heartbeats, I
    think we are OK here

    <plh> [21]http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-html-aria-20150514/

      [21] http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-html-aria-20150514/

plh: I don't know where the editor's draft for Using WAI-ARIA
    in HTML is

    <plh> [22]http://w3c.github.io/aria-in-html/

      [22] http://w3c.github.io/aria-in-html/

<paulc> Above link is Editor's draft of Using WAI-ARIA in HTML

    janina: the short-name is confusing

    paulc: very confusing

WG Decision: Move ARIA in HTML specification under the terms of
    the 2014 Process Document
    [23]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015M
    ay/0021.html

      [23]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015May/0021.html

paulc: this document had a heartbeat document today

HTML WG charter and plan

    a) Update on HTML plan next steps, Philippe
    [24]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015M
    ay/0017.html [25]http://www.w3.org/2015/Talks/0506-html/

      [24]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015May/0017.html
      [25] http://www.w3.org/2015/Talks/0506-html/

paulc: charter expires June 30th; lots of discussions re:
    reengaging the community

plh: there are two things happening in parallel.

    <paulc> WG charter:
    [26]http://www.w3.org/2013/09/html-charter.html

      [26] http://www.w3.org/2013/09/html-charter.html

plh: there is a desire to have a CG with a wide scope to
incubate ideas, there is a draft charter

    <plh>
    [27]https://w3c.github.io/charter-html/incubator-cg-charter.htm
    l

      [27] https://w3c.github.io/charter-html/incubator-cg-charter.html

plh: the long pole is thought to be the tooling to track
    contributions
... for the WG, the situation is more complicated and will take
    longer. Adrian Bateman made a proposal prior to the AC;
addressing the existing overlap of HTML and WebApps
... the proposal is to reshuffle and end up with four groups

    <plh> [28]https://github.com/w3c/charter-html/issues/14

      [28] https://github.com/w3c/charter-html/issues/14

plh: Robin has proposed a split
... these proposals need wider review. This has been discussed
    at the AB and AC.

    <plh> [29]http://w3c.github.io/charter-html/html-plan.html

      [29] http://w3c.github.io/charter-html/html-plan.html

plh: there is an issue with respect to the workmode. The
proposal is to be "data driven"; we need to expand on what that
    means
... interop will be done by the WG.
... timeline regarding the WG is not likely to happen before
the charter expires; we will need to figure out how to extend
the group and for how long
... I haven't talked to the WebApps WG yet

paulc: I sent out a reminder; before the reminder there were no
    comments
... in response, it appears that both Boris and Ted are
    concerned
... it may mean that some parts may need to be marked at risk

plh: we need to evaluate these comments, and also figure out
why we didn't catch this earlier
... part of the problem is that new content was added since the
    first CR

    b) Call for Implementer Interest: Form HTTP Extensions

Task Force reports

janina: there will be a F2F in July for A11y; location TBD
    (spain/london)
... there is an ongoing debate/discussion re ARIA role
extensions for digital publishing; looking to pull the right
    people into a telecon
... transcript extension specification: John/Chaals have the
action; we need input from the Media TF to help pick from the
    potential solutions

paulc: the transcript issue is related to issue 194

      [36] http://www.w3.org/2015/04/16-html-media-minutes.html

paulc: people should look at Ted's input

    <janina> 1/join #aria

<janina> I'll be late. HTML-WG call running a little while
    still

paulc: we continue to make slow progress
... the next progression step for EME would be to go into CR
    (per 2014 process)
... we don't have anything additional to report related to
    Canvas
... the editing TF has been largely dormant
... webapps did appt a new editor

Chair and Scribe for next meeting

paulc: we will leave that item open; I certainly don't think we
    need to meet every week
