This question was discussed at the joint Web & TV IG and HME WG meeting this morning. Please see http://www.w3.org/2016/09/19-webtv-minutes.html#item03 These notes were referred to under the first item in the HME WG minutes.

Subject: Will the WG charter be extended?

My understanding is that, even with the offer of help from WAVE there is no way for EME to become a Recommendation before the charter expires at the end of September. Are there plans to extend it?
