     [17] http://www.w3.org/2013/09/24-html-media-minutes.html

paulc: there was some concern about minutes been generated -
wasn't sent to the list but was created

johnsim: i was talking about last week's EME call

   paulc: we'll take that offline

   <paulc> EME minutes:

   paulc: hand-crafted the link

   johnsim: okay, thanks

Review of action items and issues

   MSE-related actions are given below.

MSE status and bugs

paulc: last call closes in ~9 days
... did ask the a11y TF if they were aware of this
... may be on their call this week to discuss
... that's the only place i've evangelised the spec
... as of last night we have 3 bugs (in the agenda)

Last Call bugs

Bug 22432 - Allow SourceBuffer.appendBuffer to take ownership of the
ArrayBuffer

   [19]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22432

     [19] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22432

   <paulc>
   [20]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22432#c2

     [20] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22432#c2

paulc: this is assigned - current comment from this morning -
original correspondent suggests this is invalid

acolwell: fine with marking as invalid - can do so right now

adrianba: not sure if it is true that there is no possible
   race?

acolwell: step 3 of the appendbuffer algorithm says to add
buffer to end of input buffer
... and i think he is interpreting this as a synchronous copy

   <igarashi> list attendees

acolwell: there's no opportunity for there to be a race because
it is copied inside the appendbuffer call
... if it was a reference then there could be a race

paulc: we should mark this invalid - adrianba can file a new
bug if there is something else that needs clarifying

Bug 23169 - reconsider the jitter video quality metrics again

   [21]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23169

     [21] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23169

   <paulc>
   [22]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23169

     [22] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23169

paulc: this was accompanied by mail from dsinger

   <paulc> last meeting discussion:
   [23]http://www.w3.org/2013/09/24-html-media-minutes.html#item07

     [23] http://www.w3.org/2013/09/24-html-media-minutes.html#item07

paulc: here's the reference to the minutes from last meeting
   ... status hasn't changed
... mark, do you have comments?

markw: yes, i can do look at that

paulc: mark is going to take a look at this
... mark if you can respond on the bug or email and make sure
   dsinger is prompted

   markw: ok

Bug 23441 - Establish an MSE bytestream format registry

   <paulc>
   [24]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23441

     [24] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23441

   [25]https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23441

     [25] https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23441

paulc: this one is new - created after the last meeting
... have you done anything on this?

acolwell: i'm looking for an example of something to use as a
   starting point
... how do we do this elsewhere?

paulc: didn't we decide to do this for EME CDMs?

glenn: i proposed something for this in the wiki

paulc: at a minimum that would be a place to start
... if people don't like that then they can discuss what else
   to do

acolwell: i was also trying to draft advice about how to write
   a format up
... to try to get consensus on what this should be
   ... will draft something up
... wanted a bug to track so we don't forget it

paulc: if glenn will give us the link - is it handy?

   glenn: will add it momentarily

Any other business

   <glenn> [26]http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/KeySystemRegistry

     [26] http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/KeySystemRegistry

paulc: could you put the link into the bug?
... i think we're done for today - when we meet in two weeks LC
will have closed by then so one of the topics will be how to
   move forward

   <joesteele> bug link?

paulc: my experience is that LC comments peak on the last day
... any other comments or topics?

acolwell: what is the process after LC?

paulc: i haven't had time to do this but given the small number
of comments we're going to want to produce a LC disposition
... should be easy by going through the bugs and communicating
   with people on each one
... then we start talking about going into CR
... you transition into LC without the Director but to get out
of LC and into CR then we have to get permission from the
   Director
... we will want to describe the CR exit critera
... any features to be marked at risk
... and how long we expect CR to last
... at the next meeting we should focus on LC bugs first
... and then maybe have an agenda item after to discuss the CR
   items i just listed
... we could queue up an email discussion too

acolwell: do we need a CfC to exit LC?

paulc: we'll have to produce a candidate CR document including
features at risk, exit criteria, and minimum period
... we also need a comments disposition
... we'll take this to the WG - don't expect concerns
... once we have the TF and WG consensus then i request
   audience with the Director
... to ask to move to CR
... typically for complex documents you might have a telcon
with some combination of the chairs, Team contact, and editors
to answer questions about how you disposed of LC comments
... and to see if he agrees with entrance and exit criteria
... fair question - should start an email discussion after LC
   closes

Adjournment

   paulc: adjourned
