RE: System Application 워킹그룹의 탄생

안녕하세요.

 

System Application WG은 한마디로 Web OS를 위해 필요한 표준을 개발하는 곳이라도 봐도 될 것 같습니다^^ Charter를 보시면 아시겠지만 Tizen, Mozilla B2G, Chromium으로부터 input을 받아서 생성을 진행 중이 WG입니다.

그리고 상당히 재밌는 API들이 많이 있습니다~ 차기 KIG 회의때 한번 간단히 Charter를 검토하는 시간을 갖도록 하겠습니다^^

 

그리고 혹시 추가적으로 필요한 API가 있으면 제안해주세요~^^ Web App을 개발할 때 부족한 API들에 대해서도 정리하면 좋을 것 같습니다~

오늘 B2G 아저씨들 보는데 만나고 나면 우리 회의에서 한 번 논의해봐도 좋겠습니다.

웹기술이 운영체제로 가는 긴여정의 첫발을 내딛는것 같습니다.
최근 웹기술의 진화 방향을 보면 생각하는대로 상상하는대로 가는 것 같습니다.

The mission of the System Applications Working Group is to define an
runtime environment, security model, and associated APIs for building Web
applications that integrate with a host operating system. While this
runtime will have substantial overlap with the traditional browser-based
runtime environment, it will have some important differences, being
focused on Web applications that integrate more strongly with the host
platform rather than traditional hosted web sites.

This working group differs from both the Web Applications Working Group
and the Device APIs Working Group in that those working groups are focused
on defining APIs that are safe to run in a browser environment. The work
of these groups is complementary to the work of this group, but this
working group will focus on functionality that is not necessarily
appropriate for the "browse-by" web.
