https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=19784 Priority: P2 Bug ID: 19784 CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-media@w3.org Assignee: adrianba@microsoft.com Summary: timestampOffset with multiplexed Media Segments QA Contact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: pal@sandflow.com Hardware: All Status: NEW Version: unspecified Component: Media Source Extensions Product: HTML WG A Media Segment may contain an audio-video multiplex. Transition between two Media Segments should take place on video frame boundary. The start times of audio and video essence may be offset within a Media Segment. For instance, the first audio sample may be offset from the first video sample to facilitate seamless splicing. The MSE specification implies in the diagram of Section 2.8.2 that the transition between two Media Segments occurs at the start of the added Media Segment plus timestampOffset. Does the transition between two Media Segments occur exactly at the start of the added Media Segment plus timestampOffset? Is timestampOffset alone sufficient to ensure that the transition between two Media Streams occurs on a video frame boundary when audio and video essence start time are offset?
