What precisely is "the Document's browsing context"?  Nothing seems to
explicitly specify how Documents are associated with browsing contexts.  Boris
says defaultView isn't clearly defined or interoperable across browsers:

also like to say that documents have a selection if and only if they have a
browsing context, but I'm reluctant to if the concept isn't precisely defined
or interoperably implemented.
