[Bug 16066] Use of single solidus character on void elements. Almost all void elements used in the examples throughout the HTML5 specification have no closing single solidus character. In the Start tags section (8.1.2.1) it states that its use has no effect on void e from bugzilla@jessica.w3.org on 2012-02-22 (public-html-bugzilla@w3.org from February 2012)

The self-closing slash is an XML-ism that has no effect on HTML.  I don't
understand what we'd be "setting an example" for by using it in more examples.
