What is that way? Is the intent for authors to write markup like <img
src="url-to-source" alt="replacement text" describedby="url-to-a-description">?
If so, how is this different from longdesc=""? It looks like all we've done
here is change the name of the attribute. I'm trying to presume that Laura
doesn't intend describedby="" to work in this manner, but in some other way
instead.

Your answer focused on various browser and/or AT UI features that sound neat,
but aren't really what I was asking.
