http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10455 --- Comment #27 from Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis <bhawkeslewis@googlemail.com> 2010-08-30 16:13:27 --- (In reply to comment #25) > I am open to changing the attribute's name from describedby to something > else. Perhaps it could be called "closeddescription" or "cdescription" or > "closeddesc" or "cdesc"(invisible by default like a television closed-caption > but can be opened via the user agent). A couple points: * Many authors may not be sure what "closed captions" are, so this analogy may be lost on them. I recommend using more straightforward language. * One of the contributing factors to the "longdesc" lottery is authors inserting text rather than a URI as a value, perhaps under the influence of "alt". Including "href" in the attribute name might help reduce the frequency of such errors. -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug.Received on Monday, 30 August 2010 16:13:30 UTC
