However, with <input type=hidden>, the attribute value affects the processing
of the token itself. In this case, the processing of subsequent tokens would be
affected, so a new single-purpose bit on the stack nodes needs to be
introduced.

Also, if <annotation-xml> starts taking HTML content like <div> in the
attachment, you need to make <annotation-xml> scoping (just like
<foreignObject>), since otherwise stuff breaks when <math> is a descendant of
<p>.
